THERE may not have been much, but Dorset saw its first bit of snow on Tuesday morning.

Residents in Shaftesbury were treated to a very light dusting of snow.

Snow was also reported in Gillingham and Abbotsbury, however, many other places across the county saw nothing.

As reported on the Daily Echo website on Monday, the Met Office had predicted between a 30 and 40 per chance for some parts of Dorset including Bournemouth, Blandford and Ferndown.

According to the Met Office, the ‘feels like’ temperature is just 1C today, Local forecaster Dorset Snow said next week was showing potentially for some colder weather.

He tweeted: “Next week is starting to look interesting. Very cold north noth/north easterlies? Snow risk?”
