A MAN required hospital treatment for a cut to his face after he was reportedly hit during an aggravated burglary.

The victim, a 17-year-old man, told police that he was at an address in Ashley Road, Poole, when he heard drilling to the lock of his front door and a smashed window on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to a report of an incident at 4.56pm on January 23.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "Officers attended and carried out a search of the area.

"A 17-year-old man was located with a cut on his face and attended hospital for treatment.

"It is alleged that three men entered the property and one of them hit the victim, while the other two carried out a search of the address."

Two Poole men, aged 25 and 26, and a 27-year-old man from Hampshire, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. They are currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.

On social media, it had been claimed that an incident in the Ashley Road area involved a gun.

The police spokeswoman said that following enquiries, it is believed that no firearm was involved in the incident.
