POLICE investigating a series of four violent assaults in Bournemouth town centre have issued images of a man they would like to speak to.

One person was hit over the head with a bottle, a man was pushed to the ground and two people were punched and kicked in the early hours of Saturday August 31 last year.

At 2.42am it was reported that an assault occurred in Old Christchurch Road near to Chkn Station. The victim was allegedly hit over the head with a bottle and sustained an injury to his ear that required hospital treatment.

Around 15 minutes later, a report of an assault was received outside TK Maxx in Old Christchurch Road. It is alleged that a man was pushed to the ground. A second man, aged in his 30s, intervened and was reportedly kicked and punched, causing injuries to his nose and lip.

A further assault was said to have taken place in The Square, where a man was punched and kicked.

Two men, both aged 21 and from Bournemouth, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, assault and affray. They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Investigations Officer Max Surman, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We have continued to carry out a number of enquiries into these incidents and believe that the same people were involved in all the reported assaults.

“I am now in a position to release CCTV images of man I would like to speak to as he may have further information to assist my investigation and I am appealing to him to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with information about his identity to please get in touch.”
