Children in Christchurch forgot the cares of the adult world when they got together with postal workers' children for a special annual party.
The postal workers used to hold a special function for their children early each January, but 1990 was a little different.
That year they decided to extend the special invitation to the ambulance children.
Children crowded Christchurch's Priory Church Hall in Wick Lane for the party
Branch secretary of the Union of Communication Workers Michael White said: "The whole event worked out very well.
"We felt it was something we could do to support the families of the striking ambulance crews."
The ambulance children had suffered with their parents as pay cutbacks during an ambulance dispute hit many families.
