TWO cars in the New Forest were targeted by vandals in the space of 24 hours.

Pam Nash, from Lymington, said that one car belonging to her 21-year-old son Rian Drake was smashed with a huge boulder and around £200 worth of items stolen from inside, in the early hours of Friday morning.

She added that her other son’s car had its number plates ripped off and the inside of the car “messed up” on the same night.

It is alleged that thieves removed the CCTV cameras situated on the outside walls of Pam’s home, where her sons live, just after midnight.

Pam said: “It was so upsetting for my son [Rian].

"He couldn’t get to work this morning, so lost a day’s pay and the cost to repair his car window and clean out all of the glass.

“He works so hard, it makes me so angry that people can do this.”

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We are investigating after we received two reports of cars being damaged in Lymington.

"A Vauxhall in Bays Road and Vauxhall Corsa in Meadowlands both had their rear windows damaged.

“Nothing has been reported as being taken from the first vehicle.

"A bag, some footballs, small amount of money and aftershave were taken from the Corsa.

“The incidents are believed to have occurred sometime between 4.30pm on Thursday and 8.15am the following morning. Enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is encouraged to call 101, quoting 44200011193.”
