Drivers hoping to travel northbound have been advised to use an alternative route.
BCP Council cabinet member for transport, councillor Andy Hadley said: “We can confirm that the northbound side of Stony Lane at Burton is closed due to flooding resulting from the recent heavy rain and the road’s close proximity to the river.
"Traffic is still able to pass southbound but we would advise northbound drivers to take an alternative route. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely.”
Morebus said its 24 service will divert up the Christchurch Bypass and then onto Salisbury Road, missing out stops on Martins Hill Lane in Burton.
