THE daughter of a woman whose body was recovered from the sea on Christmas Eve is raising money for the team which helped search for her when she went missing.

Fran Leach has set up a fund raising page and looks set to smash her £500 target for the Dorset Search and Rescue Team.

Her mum, Sarah Moore, went missing from her Christchurch home on Wednesday December 9.

The search and rescue team joined police and other agencies in the search for her, which continued until her body was recovered at Mudeford Quay.

In a post on JustGiving, Fran said: "My mum, Sarah Moore (from Christchurch, Dorset), took her own life in December 2019 and as a family we want to show our appreciation to Dorset Search & Rescue Team, who alongside our other emergency services, spent many hours searching for her in the most horrendous weather conditions.

"My mum went missing on the 10/12/19 and her body was sadly found by two members of the public in the water on the 24/12/19. There is no doubt in my mind that absolutely everything possible was done to find my mum during this time, and for this reason we are asking for donations in her memory, so that Dorset Search & Rescue Team can continue helping families like ours by searching for their loved ones.

"Dorset Search & Rescue Team is a team of volunteers who are trained to attend call-outs, mostly to search for missing people. They receive no funding from the government, so please donate to support this wonderful charity."
