AN AUTHOR and nutritionist will host a Good Mood Food event in Bournemouth on Friday, January 17.

Barbara Cox has partnered with The Green House Hotel and Arbor Restaurant to celebrate delicious food that is good for the environment and your wellbeing.

The event will begin with top tips for positive mental and physical wellbeing, followed by a five course tasting menu compiled by Barbara herself, alongside the hotel's head chef, Andy Hilton. Each course will contain a key mood-boosting ingredient, such as fresh ginger and shiitake mushrooms.

"I'm so pleased to be working with The Green House Hotel," Barbara said. "This event will be perfect for those wishing to create a healthy balance for 2020 and kickstart the new decade feeling positive, energetic and inspired. I strongly believe that what you eat can affect how you feel mentally, so injecting some fresh ingredients into your diet will benefit both the body and the mind."

Olivia O'Sullivan, general manager at The Green House Hotel, added: "A healthy body and mind are very much at the forefront of everyone's minds, and most people are curious about the health benefits in certain foods. Working with Barbara means that we can now take care of our guests' health holistically and in line with our eco-friendly ethos."

Barbara first became interested in the benefits of good food during a working holiday in Australia. Eight years in Japan led to a fascination between the Japanese diet and the nation's comparatively low levels of obesity, cancer, heart disease and diabetes, and prompted Barbara to embark upon a degree in nutrition.

Returning to the UK in 2004, Barbara founded Nutrichef, a healthy meal delivery company offering the health benefits of Japanese food in meals that appealed to western tastes. In 2008, Barbara was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the British Chamber of Commerce.

In 2015, Barbara decided to focus on consultancy, and she has since provided advice to many individual clients, sports clubs and healthcare brands. She is also the author of a cookbook, Eat to be Fit, available on Amazon.

Tickets for the Good Mood Food event are £35 per person, available from 01202 498900 or at
