A MAN who admitted smashing the window of a Bournemouth cafe during an incident just before Christmas has been warned he may face prison.

Michael Darcy, of Capstone Place in Springbourne, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court this week to admit criminal damage at The Real Eating Company in Yelverton Road on December 23.

The defendant, 35, also admitted assaulting an emergency worker, namely a PC, by beating him at Bournemouth police station, damaging a police cell and the commission of a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order made for two counts of drug driving and one of possessing drugs.

Magistrates bailed Darcy until January 31 for sentence. He was ordered to comply with the Probation Service for a pre-sentence report.

Darcy was also warned that all sentencing options – including custody – remain open to magistrates.
