Oswestry Film Society’s 13th season starts later this month and features a fantastic selection of films, big and small.

Season 13, which runs until April, takes viewers on a world tour visiting Los Angeles, Glasgow, Mumbai, San Francisco, Paris and Leningrad before ending in New York.

The society shows films at Kinokulture cinema on the first and third Tuesday of each month, starting with an acclaimed recent remake of a world cinema classic, Gloria Bell, on Tuesday, January 21.

Michael Hudson, from the film society, said: “We always aim to bring people films they didn’t know they wanted to see, and this season is full of them.

“We start with Gloria Bell where Julianne Moore plays a free spirited divorcee hitting the dancefloors in Los Angeles.

“We also have Only You, a beautiful and moving low budget British drama, classic 70s thriller The Conversation and recent world cinema with Photograph, a romantic comedy set in Mumbai.

“We end the season with Hollywood glam in Hustlers, an award-winning drama with Jennifer Lopez getting great reviews for her role as an exotic dancer who turns the tables on her sleazy clients.”

A season ticket covering all seven films is available for just £24.50 and on the door tickets are available at £7 per film.

“The season tickets work out at just £3.50 a film and you can watch as many or as few as you wish, it gives you a great reason to come and experience the full variety on offer, and you get to see them at their best on the big screen,” added Michael.
