THE WIMBORNE Minster Pancake Race is returning on Shrove Tuesday (February 25).

Don your frying pan and prepare to race like-minded pancake lovers to the finish line whilst tossing pancakes at the four corners of the church.

The race will begin outside the main north porch entrance to the Minster, with the first race commencing at 11am once the Pancake Bell is tolled.

All competitors should report to the north porch by 10:30am to enrol, complete with frying pan and ready cooked pancake. Anyone can enter, male or female, young or old, individuals, schools, groups and organisations.

Over 18 competitors will have the challenge of winning the John Loader Memorial Cup, presented by Martyn and Kathy Curtler and ultimate bragging rights of becoming the Minster Pancake Champion 2020.

The winner will also receive a prize presented by MAGS4DORSET.

Under 18s will have the opportunity to race at the event too.

Depending on the number of entries, these races will be spilt into three categories: ages 4-9, 9-13 and 13-18.

Races for pre-schools and toddlers and those using wheelchairs will also be available.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category.

You can pick up an entry form from the Minster or the Parish Office in Church House (next door to the Minster).
