A BUS driver was hit several times by a passenger in an "unprovoked attack" onboard a service in Poole.

Police are investigating the assault that took place on a Yellow Bus service, while it was at Branksome train station.

It was reported that a passenger approached the driver and hit him several times at around 8.16pm on Friday, October 25, before getting off the 182 bus service that was travelling towards Bournemouth.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

Police Constable Cara Bradley said: “This was an unprovoked attack on the victim, who was at his place of work.

“I appreciate this incident happened a while ago, but I have recently obtained a CCTV image that could help me in my investigation.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man in this image to please get in touch.”
