A SHOPLIFTER whole stole expensive headphones and speakers from John Lewis has been told to stay away from the store.

Richard Stubbs, of Frances Road in Boscombe, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on January 4 to admit three counts of theft from the branch at Redlands in Poole.

The 50-year-old also admitted failing to comply with supervision requirements imposed following release from a period of imprisonment by failing to attend probation appointments and keep in touch with his supervisor.

The court heard that Stubbs stole Beats headphones worth £245 from John Lewis on August 9. The following day, he returned and stole some Sennheiser headphones.

On September 27, he returned and stole a Bose speaker worth £239.

Stubbs was given bail on the condition that he stays away from the shop and reports to Bournemouth police station three days a week.

He will return to the court to be sentenced later this month.
