One of the most successful jazz quartets will bring their cool sounds to Charmouth in an Artsreach concert.

The Devon-based Neil Maya Quartet will perform a Brubeck Project concert at Charmouth Village Hall on Saturday, March 14.

Acclaimed American pianist and composer Dave Brubeck is widely considered to have guided jazz into the popular mainstream. Take Five, recorded by the Dave Brubeck Quartet in July 1959, is the biggest-selling jazz single of all time.

Neil Maya on the saxophone will be joined by promising jazz musicians from the south west to perform a selection of Dave Brubeck's most challenging compositions, including Blue Rondo Ala Turk and Unsquare Dance.

Alongside the Brubeck favourites, the band will also play some original compositions and other jazz standards.

The Neil Maya Quartet will perform at Charmouth Village Hall on Saturday, March 14. They will also play Ashmore Village Hall on Thursday, January 30 and Martinstown Village Hall on Saturday, February 1. All performances begin at 7.30pm.
