FIREFIGHTERS battled a transit van which erupted into flames in the early hours of this morning.

The vehicle had been completely destroyed by fire when crews rushed to the scene on Palace Lane, Beaulieu, just after 4am.

Crews from Beaulieu and Hardley prevented the fire spreading to a nearby building, which was full of wood chip.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We got the call at 4.14am.

"No one was involved and the transit van was 100 percent on fire.

"We got the stop message at 4.43am."
