THREE Southampton men have been charged following burglaries in which a BMW and electrical items were stolen.

The three men have been charged with a number of burglaries in Southampton and appeared before court on January 2.

Paul Stephen Collins, 29, of Millbrook Road West, was charged with burglary, three attempted burglaries, theft of motor vehicle, and driving with no insurance.

The charges come after a reported burglary at home on Blightmont Crescent in Millbrook on December 29.

Between 1am and 3am the front door was forced open and silver BMW and electrical items were taken from the address.

The attempted burglary charges relate to three attempted burglaries at a further two homes on Blightmont Crescent on the same night and a home on King George’s Avenue on December 5.

On all occasions, a man was seen trying door handles.

Peter James Donnelly, 35, of Millbrook Road West, was charged with handling stolen goods and theft of motor vehicle relating to the burglary where the BMW was stolen.

Daniel Nathan Thomas McEwan, 27, of Millbrook Road West, was also charged with handling stolen goods in relation to the electrical items taken.

All three men appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on January 2 and will appear again at Southampton Crown Court on February 3.
