THE quirky and chaotic New Year bath tub race once again drew the crowds to Poole Quay.
Spectators from far and wide stood six or seven deep along the quayside as the hardy participants took to the water.
Undeterred by damp and drizzly weather they battled it out with many participants ending up in the sea.
Pirates and politicians battled it out with snowmen, cowboys and Indians, all under the watchful eye of the RNLI and the Harbour Master.
Eggs and flour flew through the air and banter was hurled backwards and forwards between team members as the race got under way, Spectators were in good spirits as they watched the wacky vessels slowly make their way along the quay.
And many headed off to local bars and restaurants to continue the celebrations at the end of the event.
