THOSE travelling on trains on New Year's Eve could face queues and fewer services than usual.

Due to RMT industrial action, South Western Railway (SWR) is running an amended timetable with trains that are likely to be busy and will finish earlier.

While its last services will run from London Waterloo before 11pm, some extra services are running after the clock strikes twelve on inner-suburban routes only.

But no post-midnight services will run beyond Basingstoke or Guildford on the SWR mainline route.

The following late night services will operate on December 31 into the early hours of January 1: 00:15, 00:45, 03:15 and 03:45 at London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Norbiton, Kingston, Hampton Wick, Teddington, Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, St Margarets, Richmond, London Waterloo; 00:33, 01:33, 02:33 and 03:33 – London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Surbiton, Esher, Hersham, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Byfleet and New Haw, West Byfleet, Woking, Guildford; 01:45, 02:15 and 02:45 – London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Town, Putney, Barnes, Mortlake, North Sheen, Richmond, St Margarets, Twickenham, Strawberry Hill, Teddington, Hampton Wick, Kingston, Norbiton, London Waterloo; and 00:30, 02:30 at London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Surbiton, Woking, Farnborough, Fleet, and Basingstoke.
