A MAN was badly injured in an attack at Poole Bus Station which was filmed and posted on the internet, police say.

The victim – a man in his 40s – suffered a broken jaw and other facial injuries during an incident involving a group of young people at around 8pm on Saturday, December 28.

He was taken to hospital. His injuries were so severe that he needed surgery.

Two 16-year-old boys and two boys aged 13 and 15, all from Poole, have been arrested.

Footage of the incident was published on Facebook and is believed to have been widely shared before being removed.

Detective Constable Eleanor Jones, of Bournemouth CID, said officers were called to reports that a man had been attacked by a group of teenagers near Subway at the Dolphin Centre.

"I understand that footage of this incident has been shared widely on social media and I would like to reassure the public that a full investigation is under way," she said.

“I am appealing to any witnesses who were in the area at the time, and have not yet spoken to police, to please get in touch.”

The arrested boys have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and are currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
