A WOMAN accused of defrauding a Poole company of more than £400,000 – and a man accused of spending the cash on cars and property – have appeared in the dock.

Emma Rhodes and Lee Feeney, both of Manor Lane in Verwood, were at Poole Magistrates' Court for a first appearance on Friday morning.

Rhodes, 36, is charged with fraud by abuse of position on dates between December 17 2015 and May 9 2018.

Prosecutors allege she defrauded Mark Northey, company director of Norco Holdings Ltd in Holton Heath, of £437,431.68 while working as a financial controller.

She is also charged with concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property.

Feeney, 41, is charged with the second offence. It is alleged he bought items including shotguns, cars and building materials on dates between December 2015 and June 2018.

The pair did not enter pleas, and the case was sent to Bournemouth Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 23.
