A POPULAR Dorset charity is looking to recruit volunteers to help out at its friendly Wimborne shop located in Eastbrook Row.

Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice charity, is a local charity dedicated to supporting the families of children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

The shop in Wimborne relies on volunteers throughout the week to assist with a number of duties such as sorting donations, putting out stock or serving customers, and has a particular need at present for some extra help on Wednesdays.

Liz Thompson, Volunteer Co-ordinator for Julia’s House, said: “You don’t have to have experience to be a volunteer at Julia’s House - just a spare pair of hands a few hours a week can make all the difference to the children and families we support.

“It’s a great feeling to be supporting your local community. We would love to hear from anyone who’d like to get involved at our Wimborne shop.”

Julia’s House relies on public donations, fundraising and legacies for 95 per cent of the money needed to run its vital service.

The opening house for the shop are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.

Anyone interested in volunteering in Wimborne or any of the other Julia’s House shops should contact Liz Thompson on 01202 644220.
