DORSET Council spent more than £1.6 million on supply teachers from 2017-2018.
The largest sum spent was on The Compass Centre Pupil Referral Unit which received nearly £124,000.
The Purbeck School spent £65,000, Blandford School received £24,000, and Bovington Primary £15,000.
Ferndown Middle School spent £44,00 on supply teachers with £28,000 going to Ferndown First School with Pimperne CofE receiving the same amount.
By contrast Cerne Abbas CofE First School received £200.
Wimborne St Giles First School spent nothing on supply.
The figures were supplied in response to a Freedom of Information request and only cover council-maintained schools.
