THE first-ever Deer to Pier charity fundraising event attracted 230 runners to Bournemouth beach and raised nearly £5,000.
Reindeer of all shapes and sizes limbered up at Pier Approach before taking part in a 5k run to Boscombe Pier and back on Sunday.
The event raised thousands of pounds for Autism Wessex and the Stable Family Home Trust, which were working together for the first time.
Sara Armstrong from Autism Wessex said: "We were so happy about the number of people who took part and the amount of money we raised.
"This is the first Deer to Pier but we're already planning another one for 2020."
Prizes were handed out to the fastest runners and there were participants of all ages in a variety of fancy dress costumes
