Ahead of the General Election next week, we've asked the candidates for each constituency five identical questions.

They were all given the same amount of time to come back to us with their answers, and while most did respond, some didn't.

The final question - What are your top three policies other than Brexit? - was put forward by one of our lovely readers.

Below you can read what the candidates for Poole had to say.

  • GREEN PARTY - Barry Harding Rathbone (who tweeted us some responses)

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

"I'm 100 per cent Remain. Better in and to change from within."

Your policy on climate change?

"Urgent defence of Sandbanks, the Harbour Holes Bay and national policy."

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

"Fight to reinstate A&E and maternity at Poole."

We did not receive any other response.

Bournemouth Echo:

  • LABOUR - Sue Aitkenhead

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

"In a future referendum I will personally campaign to remain. Brexit has been a costly and shambolic mess and I want to see it resolved in a way that respects the views of every resident of Poole. I support the Labour party pledge to hold a final People's Vote."

Your policy on climate change?

"The environment is the defining issue of our time and with investment from Labour’s Green New Deal, many companies in Poole will be able to transfer skills over to green industries, protecting jobs and the environment. I want to see local democratic ownership of energy supply and improved public transport, and a total ban on fracking in Poole Harbour."

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

"My biggest priority will be to make sure Poole hospital has the funding and staff needed to keep our A&E, maternity unit and paediatric services open."

What is your policy on housing?

"I oppose building on green belt land because it is not necessary and support Labour’s policy to prioritise reuse of brownfield sites and ensure all development sits within its Green New Deal."

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

"Keeping the NHS in public hands and properly funded, and saving our excellent services at Poole Hospital. Tackling the climate and environment emergency by investing in our country’s infrastructure and improving Poole by revitalising our town centre, tackling local poverty and growing our sense of community."

Bournemouth Echo:

  • LIB DEM - Victoria Collins

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

"Remain. I want us to regain our rightful place as leaders in Europe and internationally. We want to reinvest a Remain bonus of £50 billion in public services and tackling inequality, which would otherwise be lost due to Brexit."

Your policy on climate change?

"I would tackle the climate crisis head-on, as I have previously worked on environmental policies and green projects. This includes banning fracking, insulating all of Britain’s homes and doubling renewable energy by 2030, protecting nature and working towards a net-zero carbon economy."

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

"I would do all I can to protect and invest in the NHS and social care including stopping Brexit which would protect it from trade deals. I would work to improve public health overall and would fight to protect and improve Poole hospital."

What is your policy on housing?

"Access to quality, affordable housing, and housing security is an important issue to tackle, especially in an area like Poole where prices are higher than the national average. I would certainly support more social housing and I would explore options for brown-belt development."

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

"Invest in local services at the heart of our community, tackle the climate emergency, and support businesses in an economy that works for everyone, helping local businesses with infrastructure and innovation investment, supporting entrepreneurs with financing solutions, and keeping our high streets busy by reforming business rates."
