EMERGENCY services dealt with a two-vehicle crash which caused traffic problems around Castlepoint shopping centre this morning.

Police were called to Castle Lane West at 10.07am to reports of the collision near one of the roundabouts outside the popular and busy Bournemouth shopping centre.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the ambulance service had also been requested and the road was partially blocked.

South Western Ambulance service said: "We were called at 10.04am to reports of a road traffic collision, reportedly involving two vehicles.

"We attended with an ambulance and one patient has been taken to hospital for further treatment."

There were reports of traffic delays along Castle Lane West, stretching beyond the Broadway roundabout.

The collision involved a blue Ford Kuga and a black Audi A6, both registered in the Bournemouth area.

The police spokeswoman described the injuries sustained as "slight".

A request was made for the local authority to attend to clear debris from the road, which was cleared and reopened shortly after 11am.
