POLICE swooped on a man carrying a hammer and reportedly damaging lamp-posts in Moordown late on Friday.
Mark Anthony Crowley, 28, of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court yesterday, said Dorset Police.
A person who witnessed the incident said: "I heard some banging noises outside and spotted a man walking down Wimborne Road with a hammer, hitting lamp-posts. shortly after the police arrived."
