A REGGAE versus jungle soundclash will be held at The Old Firestation in Bournemouth on Saturday, December 14.

Organised by the town’s Vibez collective and Bournemouth Dub Club in association with Wilkswood Reggae Festival, the night-long event will feature appearances from some of the UK’s biggest artists of the genre.

Channel One Sound System, consisting of the legendary Mikey Dread and DJ Ras Kayleb, will deliver a two-hour set of unique, bass-heavy music. T. The duo will be accompanied by by UK junglists Chopstick Dubplate, featuring young MC Natty Campbell on the mic, as well as Bournemouth’s own Countryman Sound System and host Ras Bashy.

Also headlining will be the globally acclaimed producer and drummer Spinscott.

Completing the line up will be jungle duo Serial Killaz backed by sets from Vibez’s own D-Tox and Murkydubz, hosted by Charlye Dread and Skydro.

Vibez Events was established nine years ago and is now one of Bournemouth’s leaders in the drum’n’bass and jungle scene, holding regular events in town and developing local artists.

Andre Rosario, promoter at Vibez, said: We big-up local talent who put in the effort in to please the crowd and I love to see them grow as artists.”

Bournemouth Dub Club was established six years ago following the demise of the town’s Dubnium club nights. Its success led to the formation of Wilkswood Reggae Festival, which is now in its fifth year and will take place in July 2020 in Langton Matravers.
