A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in West Parley.

Officers were called to New Road at 10.55am and the road was closed.

Dorset Police said the pedestrian’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The crash involved a green Land Rover Discovery which was recovered from the scene.

South Western Ambulance Service said they were called at 10.48am.

They attended with two ambulances and a critical care team.

A spokesperson said one patient has been taken to hospital for further treatment.

Police confirmed the woman was taken to Poole General Hospial and their officers left the scene at 1.10pm.

The occupants of the Land Rover did not sustain any injuries.

Officers investigating the serious injury road traffic collision are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the injured woman and her family and we are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who may have captured the collision on dashcam to please contact us.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists and members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”

During the incident, Morebus said its number 13 service was unable to serve any stops between Ferndown and Parley Cross along New Road.

There were reports of slow traffic from Glenmoor Road to Golf Links Road as a result.
