OFFICERS investigating the use of a bank card, stolen from an elderly woman after a telephone con, have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

The bank card was used at various locations in the town to carry out transactions totalling more than £1,400 on Wednesday, September 18, this year, after it was reported as stolen from a hotel in Boscombe Spa Road in Bournemouth the previous evening.

Dorset Police only released the image yesterday.

The victim, a woman aged in her 70s, received a call from someone claiming to be from her bank on the morning of Wednesday 18 September 2019 and they asked for her PIN so the card could be cancelled.

The card was subsequently used to carry out a number of transactions at stores in Poole that day.

Police Constable Graeme Johnston, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate these matters and have obtained a CCTV image of a man who is believed to have used the stolen card at one of the locations in Poole.

“I am releasing the image in the hope that someone might recognise him and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.”
