DORSET Wildlife Trust are holding their third Green Thursday on November 28, as an alternative to the annual Black Friday.

Green Thursday encourages local people to support wildlife and nature reserves in Dorset with their purchases this Christmas.

Products from their online shop and visitor centre gift shops support this, and 100% of the profits from these items will go straight back into wildlife conservation in Dorset.

This year, the focus is looking after red squirrels and seahorses as part of the Dorset Wildlife Trust wildlife adoption scheme, which will help these vulnerable species and also be a great green gift for wildlife lovers.

Dorset Wildlife Trust Communications Officer, Sally Welbourn said: "We have been so pleased to provide an alternative to Black Friday, so that wildlife supporters can still buy gifts and support wildlife on their doorstep in Dorset at the same time."

New for 2019, is the online only adoption scheme for £15, where you can download your certificate and information leaflets straight away.

Alternatively, you can purchase a posted adoption pack.

These cost £20 and include a certificate, cuddly toy, pin badge and species information.

The Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre is also taking part in Green Thursday, with offers and discounts on a range of gifts including four bamboo toothbrushes for £9, £5 off any Pippa Hill bronze sculpture and 50% off RRP on Rachel Bright prints.

The Chesil Centre are also hosting an art and craft exhibition, entitled 'My Wild Dorset', which will run until December 8.

This is a perfect opportunity to discover some unique, local, handcrafted gifts.

Offers are available at the Chesil Beach Centre from Green Thursday (Thursday 28th November) until Christmas, while stocks last.

Gifts are also available at The Wild Seas Centre in Kimmeridge, and the Kingcombe Centre in west Dorset.
