AN inquest was opened and adjourned into the death of a man who sustained fatal stab wounds in Bournemouth.
Kai Joshua Archer, aged 20, of St John's Lodge, St Swithun's Road, was pronounced dead at Poole Hospital on Saturday, November 16
Yesterday, at Dorset Coroner's Court, Bournemouth Town Hall, a short hearing heard how the provisional cause of death was stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
Dorset coroner's officer Nikki Muller said: "The police and ambulance had been called to attend an incident on St Swithun's Road.
"On arrival at the scene police were notified that the male at the location had been stabbed.
"CPR was undertaken at the scene by paramedics, then the male was transferred to hospital.
"On admission CPR efforts continued but these were unsuccessful and he was declared deceased.
"Police are continuing with their enquired into this matter."
Dorset Coroner Rachael Griffin, who presided over the hearing, indicated she would be suspending her investigation until the outcome of an ongoing criminal prosecution.
As previously reported, Jamie Higgs, 18, from Bournemouth, appeared at Poole Magistrate's Court on Wednesday charged with his murder. He is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court today.
A 17-year-old local boy arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the stabbing has been released while inquiries continue
