FOLLOWING the success of their first ever nationwide tour, a Dorset theatre company will be commencing the Christmas countdown with their popular Christmas singalong Once Upon A Princess.

Now in its third sparkling year, the smash hit show, brought to you by OCD Productions, returns to Dorset at the most wonderful time of the year, with a selection of popular movie musical songs and chart-topping Christmas hits.

Director and Choreographer Andy Brennan, who picked up his love for theatre after watching Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Palladium when he was five, and joining the Drama Plus theatre school based at the Regent Centre theatre, in Christchurch, a year later, is ex-cited to come back to Dorset and kick off the Christmas excitement.

He said: “OCD originally started as a graphic design business I wanted to start, standing for ‘Original Creative Designs’ but the lure of theatre was too strong, and I quickly amended my plans to ‘OCD Productions’ - original, creative, dramatic. With one very strong vision: to create quality and afford-able family theatre.”

Originally arranged as a fundraising event, Company Manager Tracy Harris set up her own princess party business, ‘Enchanted Parties’. Due to its popularity, Tracy and Andy quickly realized that they could do more with their idea.

Andy added: “At 1am, a regular time for some of our best ideas, Tracy said to me ‘let’s put on a Princess show’ - and the rest really is history.

“We put the Princess show together in 2016 as a bit of a hobby, ’trial and error’ - but there seemed little error as our first performance was a hit! People loved the show, the concept, the delivery and they wanted more. We returned in 2017 with an amended version and that’s the version of the show we have today.

Company Manager Tracy Harris said: “It’s important to keep things fresh and every year we look at new songs and ways of bringing the show up to date. Luckily Andy is very creative.”

The smash-hit show will be coming to The Barrington Theatre in Ferndown on Sunday December 1 with performances taking place at 10am, 1pm and 4pm that day.
