AN INFLATABLE Museum that explores Dorset's rich history and cultural heritage will be visiting rural communities around the county.

The Inflatable Museum is an initiative of the Dorset County Museum.

It was created with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Manchester Museum as an immersive and engaging learning environment.

The museum was designed to bring the wonder and curiosity of Dorset County Museum and its fascinating collections to communities across Dorset, enabling everyone to learn about Dorset's history.

In collaboration with Artsreach, Tomorrow’s Museum for Dorset on Tour will be bringing the museum to areas in Dorset so people can learn about Dorset's history in a fun and interactive way.

The upcoming stop for the replica of the Dorset County Museum is Stalbridge.

The Inflatable Museum will be at Stalbridge Village Hall for a weekend of history from Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November.

Head of Learning at Dorset County Museum, Emma Talbot said: "This tour is a great opportunity to bring the experience of visiting the Museum to Dorset’s towns and villages offering a free, fun drop-in to learn about the Museums current redevelopment."

Entry for the museum is free, and from 11am-3pm visitors will be able to learn about and handle real objects from the Museum’s extensive collection.

There will be a variety of learning experiences, fascinating interactive workshops and lots of other activities.

These include children trails and 'Make and Create' workshops.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to re-visit the Stalbridge History Society exhibition 'Stalbridge for Sale 1918'.

They can also meet The Stalbridge Archive Group and catch up on how the 'Dig' is going at Stalbridge Park.
