A man has been arrested following a series of drug searches in Gillingham resulting in a quantity of drugs being seized.

A spokesperson for North Dorset Police said: "Targeted action taken this evening on drug information in Gillingham, resulting in three positive searches and drugs seized. One male arrested in connection with the supply of controlled substances."

Inspector Simon Perry, of Dorset's neighbourhood policing team, said he and his team were out in Gillingham targeting anti-social behaviour and drug misuse in the town.

He added that three men were stopped and positively searched and one man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
