SPEEDING drivers stopped in Sandbanks have been ordered to attend awareness courses.

Officers from Dorset Police's No Excuse team conducted a patrol in Sandbanks Road earlier this week.

In total, five speeding vehicles were stopped. All of the motorists were told to attend driver awareness courses.

Two further vehicles were stopped for having an expired MOT, while a Tesla was pulled over because it had an 'illegal front plate', officers say.

The driver of a work van stopped during the course of the investigation allegedly tried to give false details to the police.

A spokesperson from the team said: "He was advised to give the correct details or face arrest.

"When he did give his correct details, he was found to have a provisional licence.

"He has been reported for the offence and the vehicle was seized."
