THE body of a man in his 20s has been found after he was dragged out to sea by a huge wave yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to out to Bridport in West Dorset at 2.55pm yesterday after the man was pulled into the sea near the Freshwater Beach Holiday Park.
He was walking along the beach with a woman when a wave swept them out to sea.
The woman made it back to shore and was treated by the ambulance service.
Police, coastguard officials, the NPAS helicopter and the RNLI launched an extensive search assisted by the ambulance service.
However, this morning, a man's body was found on Hive beach.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the man who went missing near to Freshwater Beach Holiday Park.
His family has been informed and the coroner has also been notified."
