A WOMAN is in hospital after falling from a second floor window in a Boscombe block of flats yesterday morning.

The casement-style window of the flat she was in remained open as officers cordoned off the scene at Princes Court as the woman, who was described by an onlooker as 'looking unconscious', was treated by paramedics.

Bournemouth Echo:

The air ambulance was also called in, landing at King's Park. There is no report yet on the extent of her injuries.

Dorset Police said: "Officers were called to a concern for welfare report of a woman at an address on Sea Road in Bournemouth at 9.56am.

"The woman fell from a window of the building. No one else was present at the time. Officers attended and road closures have been put in place to allow emergency services to deal with the situation. There is nothing to indicate the incident was suspicious."

A man who lives in the block of flats, who did not give his name, said he did not recognise the woman, who is believed to have struck the shingle driveway of the property.

"I was returning to the flats and saw all these police vehicles," he said.

"When I got here I saw an older lady, who I didn't recognise and who looked unconscious, being looked after."

South West Ambulance said: "We were called soon after 10am to attend an incident at an address in this area, and we sent various resources to the scene including the air ambulance."
