SHOPPERS with food allergies are being urged to check their cupboards after Lidl and Co-op supermarkets issued urgent product recalls.
The retailers have warned their customers to take the recalls seriously and says anyone who has bought an affected item will be able to get a full refund.
The alert was given as some ingredients which may affect allergy sufferers have not been properly listed.
The affected products are:
- Co-op Bakery Short Crust Mince Pies – recall issued as product contains barley, which is not mentioned on the label. All packs of four with 'best before' date codes up to and including November 6 2019 affected.
- Lidl Baresa Green Pesto Alla Genovese – recall issued as product contains peanut, which is not mentioned on the label. All 190g product with batch codes IIF103, IIF183 and IIF186 and 'best before' date code of June 16 2022 affected.
