BOURNEMOUTH Arts by the Sea Festival has opened applications for their tenth anniversary event which celebrates art, people, culture and place.

The festival takes place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2020.

Funding streams of £5,000 will be allocated to 'exceptional outdoor commissions', with a variety of projects costing up to £500 also being supported.

BCP Council Festival Director Andrea Francis said: "We value emerging and established artists and the high-quality work that can make a strong impact on our audience and our town."

Equality is also an important aspect of the festival.

"Arts by the Sea is committed to promoting equality and diversity across our programmes and we actively encourage applications from artists of any ethnicity, gender and irrespective of any disability."

The festival says it has a broad focus, from art installations and sustainability-focused activities to fitness-based events.
