A MOTORCYCLIST seriously hurt in a collision which killed a female pedestrian has also died from his injuries.

The Poole man in his 50s died last night after being airlifted to Southampton Hospital following the crash on Wednesday October 16.

Dorset Police received a report at 9.38pm on October 16 of a collision involving a grey Triumph motorcycle and a pedestrian on Ringwood Road, outside of the Turbary Retail Park.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – a Bournemouth woman aged in her 60s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcyclist's family has been informed of his death and is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the families of both of those who have sadly died as a result of this collision.

“We are continuing to investigate the collision and I would like to reiterate our appeal for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to please contact us.”
