It was a happy ending for a dog and her owners when she was rescued after falling from a cliff.
The Lyme Regis Coastguard team was tasked along with Beer Coastguard Rescue Team on Sunday, just after 2pm, to reports of a dog over the cliff at Whitecliff, between Seaton and Beer.
A spokesperson for the team said: “The teams set up two officers to look from the top of the cliff whilst another team accessed the base of the cliff from the beach.
“Having deployed a rope technician over the top of the cliff, Milly, a chocolate spaniel, was spotted and recovered by the coastguard team at the base of the cliff.
“The team at the bottom of the cliff carried Milly and started the slow and tricky return to the beach under the watch of the officers at the cliff top.
“Milly was a very lucky dog. Remember, for emergencies on the beach, cliffs, sea or tidal rivers call 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
