TWO “very distinctive” bronze statues have been stolen from a home in the New Forest.
The statues were taken from a property in Rockbourne sometime between 10.55am and 2.30pm on Thursday, October 17, while the owners were out.
The first statue is a life-size cast of a running fox measuring 107cm by 38cm and is signed by sculptress Polly Rome.
Police said it had been taken from an unlocked porch.
The second statue, which is by the same artist, is that of a woman with her hands in the air and measures exactly one metre tall. It was taken from the garden.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We’re appealing for information to locate these statues, specifically appealing to auction houses, pawn shops or anyone who deals in bronze.
“We would like to remind anyone with similar garden art or high value outdoor furniture to ensure they are cemented or anchored to the ground to keep them safe.”
