“I THINK we are Warrington’s hidden business secret.”

Those are the words of Paul Stretford – managing director of a company whose clients include some of the biggest names in world sport.

The Premier League, Liverpool FC, Real Madrid and Formula One are just some of the brands who work with Triple S Sports and Entertainment, while they represent some of football’s elite players.

Wayne Rooney – Manchester United and England’s record goalscorer – could be seen as Triple S’s flagship client and his relationship with Stretford goes back to when Rooney was a teenager.

Current United and England star Harry Maguire is also on the books, as is England women’s star Toni Duggan.

All of that – plus the owning and running of hugely successful charity football match Soccer Aid – comes from the head offices in Lymm.

“As a business, we’re right at the forefront of sports management with players such as Jack Butland, Angus Gunn and James Garner at Manchester United as well as Wayne Rooney, Harry Maguire and Toni Duggan,” Stretford said.

“That’s just one small part of what the business is.

“We also own a digital media company that represents the Premier League, Liverpool FC, Real Madrid, Leicester, West Ham, Formula One and the USPGA.

“We have a sports PR business that represents most of our clients and an events division that works for a lot of charities.

“We run, manage and own the rights to Soccer Aid, which we’re immensely proud of.

Soccer Aid has sold out Old Trafford

“We’ve raised over £47 million for UNICEF in the time we have run it. We’ve sold out Old Trafford on two occasions and sold out Stamford Bridge this year.

“That’s all based here in Warrington.”

Stretford himself is Warrington born-and-raised and his passion for sport in the town is clear.

He has taken control of Rylands Recreation Club, where he played football in the 1970s and 1980s, with the intention of making it a state-of-the-art community facility.

Even as head of an organisation that spans the globe, he is keen to keep it as local as possible.

“We have offices in London but the head office is here in Warrington,”

“You can never say forever because who knows what may happen, but my ambition would be for the head office to always remain in the Warrington area.”
