A MAN has died at a Christchurch restaurant after an incident yesterday.

Paramedics rushed to the Toby Carvery in Lyndhurst Road, Roeshot Hill shortly before 2pm.

However, despite the efforts of the emergency services, a man died at the scene.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "At 1.58pm on Tuesday, we received a report from the ambulance service of a sudden death of a man in his 80s at Toby Carvery in Lyndhurst Road, Christchurch.

"There were no suspicious circumstances."

Witnesses claimed the man 'choked'. One person took to social media to say the assistant manager had tried to save the man.

A spokesperson for Toby Carvery Hinton said: “Very sadly, despite the efforts of the team and emergency services, a gentleman passed away when dining at the restaurant yesterday afternoon.

“The thoughts of the team go out to the family.”
