AN INVESTIGATION has been launched amid claims that tens of thousands of council magazines are not being delivered to homes.

Independent magazine BH Living has published an article claiming copies of the BCP News magazine have been left at a waste facility in Poole.

BCP News is the official magazine of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and took the place of the former BH Life when the new council was formed.

BH Living claims residents are not receiving copies of the magazine, which is funded by the sale of advertising.

A spokesperson for BCP Council said: "We are extremely concerned by claims that large quantities of our magazine are being recycled instead of being delivered to homes. Along with our contractor, we are investigating the alleged circumstances as a matter of urgency.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who has not received a copy of BCP News, at bcpnews@bcpcouncil.gov.uk, to help us identify those residents affected. It is concerning to see any unnecessary waste, but should be made clear that the design, print and distribution of BCP News is met from the sale of advertising, not from a contract fee to the council.”
