Three people have been arrested on suspicion of trying to get drugs into a prison after police stopped their car and found a package of suspected drugs.
Officers from Dorset Police's dedicated county lines team stopped a car on Wyke Road in Weymouth at about 2.30pm on Sunday, October 13.
The vehicle and the three people inside, who were all from the Bristol area, were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and a sealed package was found in the car. Officers believed this contained "controlled drugs and other prohibited articles."
Police Dog Rodney helped officers search the car.
A 20-year-old woman and two men aged 22 and 45 were all arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and conspiracy to convey prohibited articles into HM Prison.
One of the men was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was found.
All three have since been released under investigation whilst enquires continue.
Anyone with information regarding the supply of drugs is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
