Organisers of Weymouth Beach Motocross have confirmed the event will go ahead today despite a rainy start to the morning.
The high-flying extravaganza is a partnership between Weymouth & Portland Lions Club and Purbeck Motocross Club with support from Weymouth Town Council.
The event starts at 12 noon, with more than 300 riders across the different categories expected to take part, negotiating a course of jumps and bumps.
Riders include experts who have won championships in the UK and abroad.
Although the event is free to watch, the Lions Club will be encouraging people to make charitable donations.
Weymouth Beach Motocross first started in 1984 and is now considered to be the biggest amateur event of its kind in the country.
