A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has appeared in court charged following an alleged stabbing in Poole.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of wounding with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place following an incident in Prosperous Street on Sunday May 19.

Dorset Police was called to the area at around 12.20am following reports a local man aged in his 30s had sustained stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Four men were also due to appear in court today(Fri) to face a charge of affray in relation to the incident.

The men - a 41-year-old from Poole and three men aged 22, 25 and 50 of no fixed abode - have been issued with postal requisitions to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court.

The boy appeared before Poole magistrates and is due to face the charges at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday October 24.
