DAME Esther Rantzen will open a new retirement development in the New Forest this week.

The broadcasting legend will officially open Churchill Retirement Living’s Knights Lodge in Lymington on Wednesday, October 9.

During her visit, she will also share anecdotes and stories from her career.

The event is free to attend but those interested in attending must register in advance for an invitation by calling 01590 607 346.

Dame Esther Rantzen DBE is Churchill’s brand ambassador and has worked tirelessly to champion the needs of older people.

In 2012 she founded The Silver Line - a free 24-hour confidential helpline for older people - with the aim of combating loneliness.

She has also worked closely with Churchill Retirement Living to set up The Churchill Awards, the annual celebration of the achievements of the over 65s.
