FORMER defence minister and Bournemouth MP Tobias Ellwood has called for a diplomat's wife who is wanted by police in connection with the death of a man in Northamptonshire to return to the UK.
Mr Ellwood was quoted in The Times and also put out a tweet in which he called upon Anne Sacoolas to come back voluntarily to the UK.
Mrs Sacoolas, 42, claimed diplomatic immunity and left the UK for America after 19-year-old Harry Dunn was killed in a head-on collision while riding his motorbike.
"Our two great nations stand together to defend and uphold standards and values challenged daily across the world," said Mr Ellwood. "Avoiding justice by hiding behind diplomatic immunity goes against the very spirit of that ambition. This is resolved by Anne Sacoolas returning voluntarily."
The mother of Harry Dunn has made an emotional appeal for the diplomat's wife to come back.
